Founded in 2013 by independent curators and designers Anna Planas and Pierre Hourquet, Temple ran at first as an experimental gallery space in Paris, presenting a new generation of French and international artists.
Temple is now a studio focused on curating exhibitions and designing books related to photography and mixed media, collaborating with a variety of international institutions and artists.
Recent projects include the exhibitions "The Hobbyist" at Fotomuseum Winterthur (2017) ; "Blank Paper, Stories of the Immediate Present" at Les Rencontres d’Arles 2017, the exhibition catalogue "Magnum Analog Recovery" (Le Bal, 2017) or the book, "Provoke" (Steidl, 2016).

THE SKEPTICS – Relics of technological goddess is an ongoing project mixing film, photography and objects. It is based on an amateur practice derived from ufology, scientific ufology. This marginal community of thinkers gathered around a hundred amateurs in Spain. The beauty of their approach to reality and perception, as described in their writings, lies in a utopian desire to make the modern UFO myth factitious. They suggest an aesthetic of the disappearance and blindness of images where Photography and its physicality become a speculative object, here used to deconstruct a great contemporary story.
Through its documentary, sociological and reflective approach to the image, the exhibition project THE SKEPTICS is understood as an immersive space giving us to ponder on the obsolescence of a belief. By giving voice to this community of skeptical ufologists, the project seeks to reveal these forgotten contemporary rituals that have sculpted the fantasy of geological chaos of the Canary Islands. These landscapes of elsewhere, obsolete thoughts and disused scientific tools are all relics of an imaginary fall into ruin that questions the mood of our present time, the time of the post-truth. Jean Rouch said : "the role of anthropology is to make disturbing objects circulate". Focusing on these great waves of successive appearances of the 80s and 90s, the project propose a reflection on the loss of utopias and the question of progress and interrogate in the background this mythology that scientific ufologists are trying to deconstruct, the governance of our reality by the goddesses of technology.
